"The ornaments of our house will be the guests who frequent it." author unknown

I got the email yesterday afternoon that they had cleared the lot, and were going to stake out the land today. I hemmed and hawed about driving down to catch a photo before anything occured on the land. Finally when I decided, we had just an hour to get down to catch any last glimpse of sunlight we could.

Then... we got stuck in traffic, so I turned around. I knew that I wasn't going to catch anything.

As disappointed as I was last night, I know everything happens for a reason.

And if you know me at all, I whole heartedly believe that. Those aren't just words that I speak.

Instead of giving you a "beginning" shot, here is what our plat looks like.

I was "schooled" on the difference between plot and plat when I started to work for the high-end irrigation company. {sorry MOV for stealing that from you.} Don't ask... to me it's the same thing.

Unless staking occured early this morning, I would say it didn't occur at all. Our friend, Mr. Inclimate Weather, showed up today.

Does it look like a good placement?
....

We are still in search of colors; nailing the interior down to one, for now, is harder than I thought. Cousin LEW has me swayed towards the greys. {Thank you for your input!} I have been using Houzz.com and Pinterest to view sample colors. You may find alot of "wall colors" on my board soon, as soon as I can link them up.
....

Last, but not least, THANK YOU for all of your support through all of this. I know you have other things to do besides read my blog, and message me on facebook. Your input and ideas are fantastic, and are truly appreciated!

be blessed!

Pizza Love

A couple weekends ago, my darling husband made us the homemade pizza that he often does. He makes the dough from scratch using our Kitchen aid mixer he bought me for my birthday.

On this particular day, however, whilst throwing the dough in the air, like a real pizza-pie-man, it slipped away from him, and he caught it in his arms against his shirt. Below is the image that was left imprinted by the flour on his shirt.

My pizza was made with the shrimp that he had picked up for me earlier in the week. He cooked them up for some shrimp and pesto pizza for us. {I really don't like red sauce.}

Doesn't it look delish?! It is probably my favorite because it is made with Pizza Love.

What is your favorite pizza? Do you make homemade pizza? We are always looking for new ideas, so leave me a note if you have a favorite!

be blessed,

Final Price: Arms & Legs Still Attached

Yesterday, I posted, here, a photo of the look that I was possibly wanting to do in our master suite's bathroom. I told you that the mirror was on sale at Home Depot for only $60!! {That price was on sale from Thanksgiving weekend when they were a low $100 each} We did not pick them up Thursday when we were there.

After I dropped O off at a birthday party last night, I ran to HD to get some paint samples and check out their shower/tubs.

I happened to walk by where the mirrors were, {okay, face it, I was checking dimensions of the mirrors to see if they would even fit} and low and behold...

THEY WERE ON SALE FOR $25 EACH!!!

It's 79" X 33 1/2".

And regardless if it fits exactly where I am wanting it to go, it was such a steal, I couldn't pass it up. It may go in the walk-in closet.

At least one purchase for the new home will leave us with our limbs still attached.

....

Have a great weekend!

be blessed

Nothing a long hot soak couldn't cure

Boyd Residence in Completed Projects
That's the kind of bathtub I would like to have.
(I will beg for forgiveness for no photo credit because there was none given. I hope a link to the site, is sufficient.)
As I said in this post, we have made a lot of changes to the floor plans.
This means our bathroom design has changed.
It isn't just our bathroom.
It is also our walk-in closet area.
It's approximately 15x11ish.
And with so many ideas out there pinned to Pinterest, it's really hard to decide what to go with and stay on budget at the same time.

I love the placement of the vanities along with the long mirror, which we found at Home Depot yesterday.
I am pretty sure that the shower, however, is not in our budget. (The mirror was only $60!!)
And because there will probably only be one window in the bathroom, I think this would lend to enlongating the space.

This little water-closet would be perfect for what we are trying to accomplish by separating the "toilet" area from the rest of the bathroom.
Who wants to be relaxing in the bath and have your significant other come do an unmentionable in the same area as you?
(Yes, there will be other bathrooms in the house. But you catch my drift, don't you?)
So a loo and a basin; it's what I am going for.
....

We are throwing around just adding a half wall with no door. Personally I think this would leave our space open.
I really am not too keen on having closed off spaces.
I'm a little claustrophobic like that.
....

I am accepting bathroom blueprints if you want to have a go at it.
Who knows... maybe we will use some of your ideas.

Enjoy your weekend! (It's 79 here, and supposed to get down to 34 by morning)

be blessed,

“A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams.” author unknown

With more than a few changes to the blueprints...
Along with more upgrades than they have ever had in one build...
Just as soon as the permits come in...
The ground will be broke...
And within 120 days...
We will call it our home.

When we originally looked at the development, we ran into a man that was doing some electrical work in a home that wasn't quite finished. He lives in the development and raved at how close they were, getting together for functions. Something I've really missed as we've lived here in VA.

If you had only one color to chose for wall color through out the entire home, what would it be?
I chose white for obvious reasons.
However, I am not sure I can sell that to everyone else.
Especially the boys who want COLOR in their rooms.
Do you go with white and paint over?

So that is where we are today.
Waiting for permits.
Waiting to break ground.
Waiting to get started on making our house a home.

be blessed,

the best mom ever

I know it's never a good thing to compare yourself to others, but I honestly just can't help it. And it's not that I'm comparing myself, but my actions. I get worn out just by reading or hearing the happenings of what other moms do for their kids. "We went to so-and-so museum, then we took the train to this monument, and from there we hiked 314 miles to see the world's largest candy factory."

REALLY?

"Oh and I forgot to mention, we made 852,671 valentines for all of our friends, family, co-workers, hair dressers, grocery store clerks, and we even gave one to all the homeless shelters in the area."

WOW.

I really need to manage my time better. Because all I did was go to the commissary, pick up a pre-made box of valentine's for O's class, a few Valentine's for the boys {including the big one}, and set them out after school. {truth be told, O didn't like the ones I picked so we printed out STARWARS on card stock and he spent the evening coloring them for his classmates.}

And it's not just a day like yesterday. It's every day. Maybe it's because I am selfish with my time. Maybe I need to borrow one of the busy mom's schedules just to see how they do it. {Are there any takers out there willing to share how you do it?}

I haven't ever been really good at time management. I was always a procrastinator in school, staying up until 4am to get projects done. This is one trait that I would have hoped that I didn't pass along to the boys, but I think T has already picked it up. Yes, inheritly, I am guessing, since my mom is one as well.

Come to think about it... O is too.

But if I get something like this every Valentine's Day, done at 7pm over at the neighbors...

I would be happy if he procrastinated his whole life, just like his momma.

After all, I AM the BEST mom EVER!

be blessed
